Maritime Week Festival, The Schlachte, Bremen
A pleasant Saturday. Fabulous leisurely Bremen breakfast with Horst.

We drove to Contrescarpe Straße to Horst's Office. Checked in to RyanAir for our London tickets and print the boarding passes.

We walked to the Schlachte for the Maritime Week Festival. We walked the River Weser Promenade. There was a flea market, craft stalls, food and drink stalls, a German band with piano accordions and cajons. The restaurants and beer gardens were in full swing. The boat parade started at 4pm.

Margret and Jochen Heck joined us about 3:30pm. We had already drunk two 0.5litre Octoberfest Beer Steins. Jochen bought another round. We also ate Bratwurst rolls with mustard, roasted cashews and two rounds of pretzels!

If that wasn't enough food we then walked to the Schnoor and ate traditional Bremen meals in the Gasthof zum Kaiser Friedrich. I ate Knipp with fried potatoes and gherkins.

Back to Schwachhausen to finish off the night with some wine.
