Drinking Oktoberfest Bier.
9th September
Late breakfast. Horst, Ron and I went into the city to buy a few items and fix Ron's mobile data issues. With our flat rate prepaid cards we can only load 1.5gb data at a time and only from within Germany even though the sim works in all EU countries.
Cold and rainy day today.
We picked up Vera at the train station at 2:44pm. Walked her bag to the InterCity Hotel next to the railway station. Then off to the Schlachte to Paulaner Restaurant for a late lunch. We drank the Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier brewed especially for the Oktoberfest. It has a higher alcohol content, 5.6 instead of 4.9. Ate a fabulous dinner.
Vera wanted to rest and did not want to come back to Horst's for the evening so we took her back to her hotel.
A welcomed quiet evening eating Vesper and drinking beer and wine.
10th September
Horst and Ron picked up Vera from her hotel and brought her for breakfast. After breakfast we moved Vera to another hotel then did a walking tour of Bremen for Vera - Markt Platz, Bremer Musikanten, St Petri Dom, Die Lieben Frau Kirche, Böttcher Straße, Schnoor. We had frühschoppen in Katz Cafe. Back to Markt Platz to the Town Hall from 1405 and the Ratskeller (Town Hall cellar) now a restaurant with wine barrels from 1737.
At 3pm we went to Margret and Jochen Heck for coffee and cake and stayed for Pinot champagne and nibbles! Jochen has not been well but he was looking better than last time we saw them.
Back to Horst's for Vesper and beer. Vera went back to her hotel. We finished the evening with wine and Ninja Warrior.
