11th September
Breakfast, collect Vera and then off to Bremerhaven to the MS Ocean Majesty for the South England Cruise from Horst's company, HansaTouristik.
Horst met with daughter Karin and the ship's captain to discuss the coming cruise.
Vera, Ron and I took a taxi into the city to add more data to Ron and Vera's prepaid mobile card.
There are not many historical buildings in Bremerhaven because it was 97% destroyed by bombs in WWII.
The weather is not good. There are 100km/hr winds heading our way from England, our destination, they will still be 45km/hr when they reach us and 7metre waves. The captain decided for safety reason that we would not sail today. We are staying in the harbour tonight.
HansaTouristik organised free shuttle buses into the city. Back to the ship for dinner in the restaurant and the evening dance group entertainment - Broadway.
12th September
We stayed in Bremerhaven overnight to avoid the two gale force storms coming from England.
Ron and I walked into Bremerhaven city along the bicycle track and along the sea dyke. A lovely walk. We looked at the modern Mediterraneo shopping centre, the conference centre and the esplanade hotel. We walked along the esplanade past the Zoo am Meer and the migration museum.
We walked back to our ship in time for lunch. At 1pm we set sail for Eemshaven in Holland. We took sea sickness tablets and went to bed to sleep and read our novels.
At 8pm the seas started to calm and we got up to go to dinner. We were totally amazed to discover that the Captains Dinner which started at 6:30pm had actually gone ahead and even more amazing was that half the passengers turned up. However due to the storm the Captain did not come to the dinner.
