( Overview
/ Our Serengeti Safari
We arrived at Bole Airport in Addis Ababa at 07:00 and then spent three and a half seemingly endless hours waiting for our flight to Kilimanjaro airport in Tanzania. Although the flight was again with Ethiopian Airlines, the aircrew on this leg were much more alert and customer focussed.
We finally landed in Tanzania at 13:00 and were met by Isaac, our tour leader, who drove us to Arusha which is a much bigger town than we imagined. The hotel consists of individual chalets in the grounds of the property. In the afternoon, we sat by the pool with a beer and met two more of our party, Denise and Mick from Felixstowe.
After having a much needed shower, we watched some African singing and dancing by the pool then had dinner and met a few more of our group.
Finally, we collapsed into bed early absolutely knackered !
The group was just ten people :
Denise and Mick (from Felixstow)
Celia
Mel and Natalie (mother & daughter from London)
Margaret (from Scotland)
Judy and Sues(sisters : Judy lives in France and Sue in Leeds)
and us
Plus our two local tour guides Isaac and Banu
