We go up early, about 9, showered, packed a suitcase and Ron's large backpack and two daypacks and went next door to our shared kitchen for breakfast.

We had no Euros to speak of and we had to check out by 11am. We would be too early for the ship checkin but we had to put out luggage somewhere and go and find an ATM. We decided to get a taxi to the ship now and hope we could dump our bags early. That worked a treat. Cost 13 Euros in the taxi and Hansa Touristik took our bags.

You would think it would be easy to find an ATM in a big city but not in Genoa. We searched the Tourist streets and the shopping streets and eventually got down to the hotel we stayed in in 2015 and Ron remembered where we found an ATM then. So we finally got money and walked back to the ship. That killed 2 hours so we could checkin and get on board. We had room J 90 which is a standard J deck room toward the back but still central enough. We where quite happy with the room and unpacked.

The alarm sounded and we had to go to yet another sinking practice. Horst rang as Susie was getting her life jacket on. No way she could answer and rang him back later. He was just wishing us "Ein gute Reise".

We left port and enjoyed the ride out but then it got rolly. We rested in our cabin until dinner. Susie was feeling a bit seasick but finished dinner and came back for a sleep before the show. She didn't get up but Ron went by himself. It was supposed to be the dancers. Klaus Desbusman found him and had a chat. He wanted to know why we were back and where was Susie. Then the show was about to start but was cancelled because of the roll. The Clipper band played on but then took a break. We had seen Sultan before and said "Hello". But during their number he pointed Ron out to the drummer Vince and he waved to to him as he played. During the break Vince came up like and old mate and chatted for a long time. After he left the young dance leader also spoke with Ron for a while. It is clear they are desperate to talk with anyone new it English. It has been a long session for them.
