Killarney

Ireland, 09. August 2017
Kilkenny Castle
We drove 30 minutes to Cashel and The Rock of Cashel. The Cashel Castle was built on the rock. It has two histories, 8th century nobility wooden structure, 12th century stone structure and 17th century ecclesiastical. Due to changes in weather conditions it became too cold to live there and was vacated in the 18th century.

We drove to Mitchelstown, an artisan village. We walked the Main Street. Next to Mallow, a small quaint town. Next we drove through Cahir and viewed the castle from the outside. Next our destination for today, Killarney.

Our AirBnB at Countess Road 10, Killarney, County Kerry, satnav V93 h93x, was basic accommodation but excellent location.

Killarney is a tourist town. Lots of people, pubs, shops and cafes. We settled into our B&B then walked 5 minutes into the city centre. We stopped to eat at Treyvaud's Bar and Restaurant. We had Beef & Guinness Irish Stew and drank our first Irish Guinness. Magnificent meal.
Later we found another restaurant Street and a mall with a band playing folk songs. The dedicated "The wild colonial boy" to us Aussies.
