Our B&B in Killarney
"Oh, Kerry of silver waters, Kerry of mountains tall,
In all the world I've journeyed round, there is nowhere like you at all!"
Teresa C. Botanical 1905

Our agenda today: The Grand Atlantic Coast Tour. The Ring of Kerry is a scenic drive around the Iveragh Peninsula in southwest Ireland’s County Kerry. Its 179km-long, circular route takes in rugged and verdant coastal landscapes and rural seaside villages. Skellig Michael, a rocky island with an abandoned 7th-century Christian monastery, is a major destination point, with several boats from Portmagee making the 12km crossing during the warmer months.

We left our B&B at 7:30am for an early start on our Ring of Kerry car tour. We also needed to pass through Killorglin before the Puck Fair crowds started. This is a grand fair that surrounds a goat which is placed up in a tower for 3 days.

We travelled from Killarney to Killorglin to Glenbeigh to Cahersiveen to Knight's Town. We stopped at the Beachcove Cafe for breakfast in Waterville. Ron had a full Irish breakfast and I had scone with jam and cream.
