The Gibbon Experience was by far the coolest thing I've done on my trip so far! For three days, we ziplined & hiked through the jungle in Laos, staying overnight in treehouses that were only accessible by zipline. The treehouses were unreal. I don't think my childhood self could have dreamed up anything so cool. The treehouse on the 2nd night had 4 different levels of platforms for sleeping and lounging. The bathrooms were completely open to the jungle (bar a small railing to keep you from falling over) so you could shower feeling right you were right in the jungle. (Sorry, no shower selfies for social media). Dinner & breakfast were ziplined in by locals who would cook in kitchens on the ground. It was crazy impressive to watch the local wome. zip in carrying hot kettles. We slept under thick mosquitos nets at night because the bugs were relentless. There was so much noise in the jungle at night too.
We were even lucky enough to see Gibbons from our treehouse on the 2nd night. Originally, I signed up for the waterfall tour, which meant more hiking and zip lining, but al alt guaranteed no gibbon sightings. Too much rain meant we got moved to the Classic experience, which put us closer the gibbons. As disappointing as it was to miss the waterfall, seeing the gibbons was really cool! No pictures of them because my camera's zoom isn't that good ;)
