Oh Vang Vieng... Back in the 90s, this town was THE backpacker destination. Drugs, drinking & tubing along the river are seriously all this place has to offer. Too many tourists were dying from the combination of drugs, drinks and tubing back in the day, so the government cracked down a bit and now there's only two riverside bars and they only sell limited amounts of drugs. Supposedly the death rate is down to 11 people a year. Now that's progress!

So anyways, or was a convenient stopover between Luang Prabang and Vientiane, so my new hypochondriac friend and I stopped in for two nights. The weather was pretty good for rainy season on the day we tubed and it was actually more fun than I expected. I took heaps of pictures on my Go Pro and managed to hold onto it through both riverside bars... But somehow lost it in between getting off the river and getting back to the hotel. I cried and cursed Asia a lot, but at the end of the day it's just a camera and cameras are replaceable. Sadly no pictures to remember the tubing though :/
