A walk along the coast to Portmarnock
A beautiful day for a stroll and watching the many sea swimmers (brave or mad?). We planned to catch the bus from Portmarnock to the airport, but it didn’t turn up, so we walked back to Malahide for a taxi.

Not the most picturesque car park, but couldn’t resist a last Guinness before heading home…..
….but a shame the ice-cream van wasn’t open!
The Velvet Strand in Portmarnock. In 1930 Charles Kingsford Smith piloted a Fokker monoplane, the Southern Cross,from this beach and succeeded in making the second North Atlantic east-west flight.
