/ Our Serengeti Safari
Unfortunately, the time has come to leave Tanzania and make the long journey back home. After a leisurely breakfast and a last look out over Lake Burunge, we set off in the jeeps for Arusha. This would be the last tour for Isaac and Banu for a few months as the rainy season is about start and the safari operations close down until June or July.
On the outskirts of Arusha, we stop at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, an old coffee plantation which has been converted very tastefully into a hotel and restaurant complex. We have a couple of hours there, having lunch and a look around the shops, then it is time for Isaac to drive us to Kilimanjaro Airport to catch our flight to Addis Ababa where we have to wait for nearly six hours for the flight to London. We arrive back into Heathrow just before 07:00 on Sunday morning and our taxi is waiting to take us home.
Whilst we have been away, the heating thermostat has gone on the blink and the temperature in the house is 14 degrees Celsius. Welcome to England !
