/ Europe 2017
Time to move on toward the final stage of our trip.
We took one last look at Brussels in the morning and had a fabulous breakfast at Paul's Patisserie and Bakery, coffee and pastries. I had a Palmier - one of my checklist items.
We packed our bags and walked to the central train station and took the train to Brussels Airport for our RyanAir flight to Milan. Rookie mistake!! RyanAir was flying from Charleroi Airport. We were almost 2 hours early for our flight but Charleroi was 72km out of Brussels! Our only chance was to catch a taxi! A very costly mistake - 193 Euro taxi ride which we had to pay in cash (187 Euro plus tip). We gave the driver all our money. We did not even have enough cash to buy a bottle of water. Luckily we had already bought filled baguettes for lunch on the plane from Paul's bakery.
And we did make it to our flight on time.
We got to Milan then had to wait an hour and a half for a train to Genoa. Then we walked to our B&B which took us a while to find. We were lucky that our B&B host waited for us. We did not get there until 8:30pm. Check in was by 6:30pm. A fabulous B&B. Large room with ensuite, air conditioning and good wifi. All newly renovated. Three rooms with share Kitchen.
We showered and went out for dinner to Vegie Zena Restaurant (recommended by our host). Then a walk along the port esplanade.
