Port Augusta

Australia, 09. June 2017
We were told to give Port Augusta a miss as it has high crime rate cos of the indigenous..we still decided to go and found a very secure park with security and barbed wire fences walls ! It backed onto the water and was actually quite pretty. Did a massive shop at coles to stock up for the outback trek.. snacks galore !! On Saturday we rode the Pichi Richi steam train to Quorn passing through Woolshed Flat and seeing some of the flinders ranges. Quorn was a very quiet town. Had 2 hours here so had lunch in pub. Had a couple of wines so the trip back was a bit snoozy! Nightlife in PA was a bit lacking (plus I didn't want to be out at night!!) so we stayed home both nights ( OMG Fri and Sat nights!!) .. that's a first!
Our barbed wire security campsite !
Ooh it's getting redder!
Toot toot we're on the Pichi Richi
First pink lake !
