( Overview
/ Around Oz with Steve and Ros
Left a sunny Bathurst for a very very cold Katoomba in Blue Mountains. Was about 12 degrees when we arrived (at lunchtime!!) and very misty and drizzly. Our caravan park was across road from walking trail to Three sisters . So donned our raincoats , went for arvy walk around the cliffs to Katoomba falls and prince Henry cliff walk. Headed into town for some drinkies .. very quiet town .. in need of a good pub! Had couple in the old city banks and the family hotel.
Next day the weather was much kinder and we drove and walked to Govetts leap, Evans lookout, town of Leura for scones and coffee and then the big kahuna three sisters which was very spectacular.
Next day was scenic world where we got up really early to beat all the tourists and queues. Walked to scenic skyway which took us over to scenic world.. awesome views..very scenic! Scenic world had a skyway, railway, cableway and walkway showcasing the mountains.. very impressed ! Then down to the rainforest walk by the steepest railway in the world and back up again by cablecar. Just brill! Train was supa scary..lucky there were only 2 others with us that heard my screams of terror!! Our last night was back at the Railway bar in town (the only decent bar!)
