Travel Season
New Zealand has a very varied climate, which means that there is not just one singular ideal travel time. Each season has its advantages. In any case you should always be prepared for any type of weather as it can change quickly even throughout the day. It is never extremely hot and it can rain spontaneously. If you prefer warm weather, the summer months from December to March on the Northern Island and the northern tip of the South Island might be for you. In general the north and the east coast get more sun and less rain compared to the south or the west coast on the South Island. Overall a good travel time is between October and April, with the weather being best in most regions.
